Heinz-Dietrich Fischer

Heinz-Dietrich Fischer (born May 1, 1937 in Blankenstein an der Ruhr) is a German journalism and communication scientist.

Fischer studied journalism, history, political science and public law at the Free University of Berlin as well as at the University of Zurich and Münster. From 1968 to 1969 he taught at the University of Missouri's School of Journalism. He completed his habilitation at the Ruhr University Bochum and since 1974 has been head of the section for journalism and communication at the Ruhr University Bochum. He became known in 1972 as the editor of the anthology German newspapers from the 17th to the 20th century .
