Heinz Becker (soccer player)

Heinz "Hein" Becker (* 1915 ; † after 1952) is a former German soccer player .

career

In the 1951/52 season, Heinz Becker played for 1. FC Cologne in the Oberliga West . The "billy goat-Elf" took fifth place under player- coach Hennes Weisweiler and Becker completed 14 league games. Heinz Becker started the season as a regular player on the right winger alongside top performers like Paul Mebus , Josef Röhrig and Hans Schäfer . On the final day of the round, April 20, 1952, he stormed again in the 4-0 win against Prussia Münster on the right wing. The 3-2 home win on August 26, 1951 against Borussia Dortmund in front of 35,000 spectators was outstanding for him .

From 1951 to 1954 his namesake Franz Becker also played for the billy goats, which is why he was sometimes referred to as Becker I, Heinz Becker, however, as Becker II.
