Heinz Schürmann (entrepreneur)
Heinz Schürmann (* 1922 in Porta Westfalica ; † February 3, 2010 in Bielefeld ) was a German entrepreneur who founded the companies Schüco (1951) and Granini (1964).
On January 1, 1951, he founded the SCHÜRMANN & CO company in Porta Westfalica, which moved to Bielefeld three years later and still operates under the name Schüco today. Since the renaming of the Bielefelder Alm to SchücoArena in 2004, this football stadium has been indirectly named after the founder of the Schüco company.
Schürmann was made an honorary senator by the Technical University of Stettin in 2000 for his support for research cooperation between the Technical University (TU) Stettin and the Fachhochschule (FH) Bielefeld.
