Heinz Schulz (born January 5, 1935 in Bernburg (Saale) ) is a former German boxer from the GDR who competed with the all-German Olympic team at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo .

Schulz started boxing at BSG Chemie Bernburg in 1950 . A year later he was GDR youth flyweight champion. After completing his lathe training, he signed up for the NVA and boxed for ASK Vorwärts Berlin . Schulz won four GDR championship titles: 1960 bantamweight, 1957, 1959 and 1962 featherweight. At the European Boxing Championships in 1961 Schulz won a bronze medal in the featherweight division, two years later he was eliminated in the second round. In 1964 Schulz qualified for the all-German Olympic team by winning points against Manfred Machs from West Berlin . In the Olympic competition , Schulz won three fights on points, in the semifinals he was knocked out against the later Olympic champion Stanislaw Stepaschkin from the Soviet Union.

After his active time, Schulz worked as a junior coach at ASK Vorwärts Berlin and later as a sports teacher in Strausberg.
