Heinz Solbach

Heinz Solbach (born March 4, 1918 in Eichen ) is a German former manager of the coal and steel industry.

Life

After attending the Rector's School in Kreuztal , Solbach completed a commercial apprenticeship at Geisweider Eisenwerke AG, which he completed with the assistant examination. He then worked as a clerk in the sales department of his training company, in which he was promoted to assistant to the management in 1938. In 1951 he became head of the sales department of Stahlwerke Südwestfalen AG in Geisweid and in 1956 a member of the board of Deutsche Edelstahlwerke AG .

Solbach had been a member of the board of directors for sales at Hoesch AG in Dortmund since 1968 . After Josef Fischer retired in 1976, he took over the post of CEO and at the same time became head of Hoesch Werke AG and deputy chairman of the Nijmegen- based umbrella company Estel . He held these management positions until December 31, 1979. The day after, Detlev Rohwedder was appointed his successor . In addition to his work at Hoesch, Solbach was a member of the board of directors of the Gerling Group.

Heinz Solbach was married to Magda Schnell.
