Helen Dannetun

Helen Dannetun (born February 17, 1957 ) is a Swedish physicist , professor and rector of Linköping University .

career

Dannetun completed her studies with a Master of Science degree in engineering physics and electrical engineering from Linköping University in 1980. In her dissertation in 1987, she researched catalytic reactions on metal surfaces. She then worked as a research assistant from 1988 to 1994, and as a university lecturer and professor of physics from 1994 to 2002.

She headed the Department of Physics, Biology and Chemistry at the University from 2000 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2011 she was Dean of Technology at Linköping University. In 2011 she was appointed rector of the university. She has held this office since then.

Memberships

Dannetun has been chairwoman of the Swedish University and Higher Education Association (SUHF) since 2015. In 2018 she was appointed chairman of the NUS - Nordic University Cooperation. She has been Sweden's member of the European Association of Universities since 2015. From 2013 to 2015 she was the spokesperson for the European Consortium for Innovative Universities. Since 2011 she has been CEO of the Norrköping Visualization Center C.
