The Helene-Lange-Schule is an integrated comprehensive school with upper secondary school and the first comprehensive school in Oldenburg . The school authority is the city of Oldenburg. It was named after the Oldenburg pedagogue and women's rights activist Helene Lange (1848–1930).
classes
For interdisciplinary learning and project learning, individual subjects are grouped into learning areas:
- History, politics, geography → to social studies (GL)
- Physics, chemistry, biology → to natural sciences (NW)
- Labor theory, economics, technology → to labor management (AW)
The subject Values and Norms (WeNo) is taught to all students without any denomination. As a special feature, the school also offers integration classes in addition to orchestra and sports classes .
The school takes part in the Sign project for addiction and violence prevention and health promotion in schools.
Awards
Together with five other schools nationwide, the Helene-Lange School was recognized as a “Climate Alliance School” in 2005 in the school competition of the same name. As part of this project, the students established contacts with schools in seven countries around the world in order to support each other with the installation of solar systems under the motto Partnership creates energy . In 2006 the comprehensive school was awarded the title environmental school . In December 2006 it was named one of the official projects of the UN Decade “Learning Sustainability - Education for Sustainable Development”.

The comprehensive school maintains a school partnership with the Instituto Concepción de María , a comprehensive school in San Francisco Libre near Managua / Nicaragua .
