Helga Stevens (born August 9, 1968 in Sint-Truiden ) is a Belgian politician of the Nieuw-Vlaamse Alliantie .
Life
Stevens studied law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven . Since 1996 she worked for the organization European Union of the Deaf . From July 5, 2007 to June 6, 2009, from June 7, 2009 to May 6, 2010 and from July 13, 2010 to May 24, 2014, Stevens was a Senator in the Senate of Belgium .
Stevens has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014 . There she is a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and a delegation to the parliamentary cooperation committees EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan, EU-Uzbekistan and EU-Tajikistan as well as for relations with Turkmenistan and Mongolia. Stevens lives in Sint-Amandsberg.
