The Helios Kreiskrankenhaus Gotha / Ohrdruf is an acute hospital based in Gotha-Sundhausen and an academic teaching hospital of the University of Jena with a regional care contract.

Together with the medical facilities in the Gotha district , such as the Gotha Medical Care Center and the Ohrdruf Medical Care Center , it forms a district-wide health center with its 14 specialist departments.

history

The Helios district hospital Gotha / Ohrdruf was opened in March 2002, after several years of construction, in the southwest of the city of Gotha near the district of Sundhausen . It is the successor to the old "Gotha City Hospital", which was founded in 1878 and existed until 2002. Helios Kliniken has held shares in the hospital since 1995 . In 2015, the district and the city of Ohrdruf agreed to sell their shares in Krankenhaus GmbH to the clinic group.

The standard of medical treatment and the quality of care have been continuously increased since the opening.
