Helmut Anemüller

Helmut Anemüller (* 1920 ; † November 5, 2000 ) was a German doctor , nutritionist , author and lecturer who developed a form of nutrition named after him. In doing so, he drew on the work of Maximilian Oskar Bircher-Benner (1867-1939) and Werner Kollath (1892-1970).

He divided his nutritional therapy into three areas:

1.Special nutritional therapy regimina:

  • total fasting (zero diet)
  • modified carbohydrate-supplemented juice fasting according to Buchinger / Lützner
  • modified carbohydrate-supplemented fruit fast
  • modified protein-substituted whey fast
  • strict vegetable raw food according to Bircher-Benner
  • expanded vegetable raw food
  • Whole grain diet
  • Whole fruit and vegetable rice diet
  • gastrointestinal rehabilitation diet according to Franz Xaver Mayr
  • gastrointestinal rehabilitation diet according to Kousa
  • Dry day-drinking day alternating diet according to Johann Schroth

2. Whole-food order food

  • normal basic diet
  • Energy-reduced basic diet variant for overweight
  • Carbohydrate-based basic diet variant for diabetes
  • Low-purine basic diet variant for gout
  • Low-sodium basic diet variant for hypertension
  • fat-modified basic diet variant for hypercholesterolemia
  • Basic gastroenterological diet variant for stomach, intestinal and liver diseases

3. Special diets

  • gluten-free diet for celiac disease and adult sprue
  • special diet for Crohn's disease
  • protein-, electrolyte- and fluid-defined diet for chronic kidney diseases
  • extremely low protein and protein-selective diet for chronic kidney failure
  • Low-protein diet for advanced liver cirrhosis
  • Diet for colostomy or ileostomy
  • Diet for total gastric resection

In the 1950s, Anemüller was a co-founder of the Reformhaus-Fachakademie, Oberursel and a member of the board of the Central Association of Doctors for Naturopathic Treatment (ZÄN).
