Helmut Damrath

Helmut Damrath (born June 12, 1917 in Allenstein ) is a German civil engineer.

Life

Damrath was born to the married couple Bruno and Agnes Damrath. After graduating from high school, he studied at the Technical University of Gdansk. His studies were interrupted by military service and American imprisonment. After the end of the war he continued his studies at the Technical University of Hanover. He was employed by the engineering office Friedrich Kocks in Koblenz and at the same time lecturer at the engineering schools in Koblenz and Siegen. From 1959 to 1971 he was director of the engineering academy for water management and cultural technology in Suderburg and from 1974 to 1976 rector of the Northeast Lower Saxony University of Applied Sciences .
