Helmut Gebelein

Helmut Gebelein (* 1940 ) is a professor emeritus for chemistry didactics at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . He deals with the philosophy and history of natural science . He became known to a wider public through his work and lectures on alchemy .

Life

He studied chemistry at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and in Paris at the Institut de Biologie physico-chimique . In 1969 he received his doctorate with a thesis on theoretical chemistry in Frankfurt, after which Gebelein was a postdoc at the University of Tel Aviv . He has been a professor in Gießen since 1972.
