Helmut Mistol (born August 26, 1935 ) is a former German boxer .

Life

Mistol, who was born in Zedtlitz in Saxony  , boxed as an amateur for the Hamburg boxing club Heros, and in January 1956 he made his debut as a professional boxer. In March 1959 Mistol was German welterweight champion by winning points over Ernst Zetzmann . He suffered his first defeat in his first fight abroad: Mistol lost to the Dane Chris Christensen in Copenhagen in November 1959 .

He suffered his second defeat in March 1961. He met  the Dutchman Harko Kokmeijer in Berlin . Mistol was already counted in the first round, in the sixth round he was disqualified after repeated headbuttings. He played his last professional fight at the end of September 1961 in Hamburg's Ernst-Merck-Halle against Hector Constance from Trinidad . Mistol controversially won the fight with a demolition win in the sixth round.

In the spring of 1962, Mistol was arrested and charged with pimping.
