Capri Sonne was a Belgian cycling team that existed from 1973 to 1982.
history
The team was founded in 1973 and from 1973 to 1980 the Belgian ice cream manufacturer IJsboerke was the main sponsor. Rik Van Looy was the first team leader and remained so until 1975. His successor was Willy Jossart until 1980. In 1981 a German manufacturer of the fruit juice drink of the same name became the main sponsor and Walter Godefroot was team leader until the team was dissolved in 1982.
doping
As of 1980, there was only one documented incident. Eric Mackenzie tested positive at the Grand Prix of Zurich. There are no other cases, but with Walter Godefroot , Patrick Lefevere and Rudy Pevenage there were other people in the team who were later associated with doping.
