August Mortelmans

August Mortelmans (born April 24, 1904 in Kerkom , † October 8, 1985 in Lier ) was a Belgian cyclist .

August Mortelmans was a professional racing driver from 1924 to 1935. At Paris – Tours in 1925, he finished second; in 1927 he became Belgian road racing champion. In 1928 he finished second on the Tour of Flanders . However, he was denied major successes.

After the end of his active cycling career, Mortelmans opened a bicycle shop in Heist-op-den-Berg .
