Benjamin Van Itterbeeck

Benjamin Van Itterbeeck (born April 16, 1964 in Heist-op-den-Berg ) is a former Belgian cyclist .

Before Benjamin Van Itterbeeck turned professional, he was able to attract several successes as an amateur, such as a win at Paris-Troyes and the Omloop of the Vlaamse Gewesten , both in 1986. In the same year he turned professional and competed in the Lotto - Eddy team Merckx . In 1989 he won the Nationale Sluitingsprijs , in 1990 the Omloop Mandel-Leie-Schelde and in 1991 he was Belgian road racing champion. In 1995 he resigned from professional cycling and allowed himself to be re-amateurized. "Hij had part aan de plaag van exprofs die wedstrijden 'terroriseerden' [...]." (Dutch = "He was one of this plague of exprofs who 'terrorized' competitions.") So he won 148 races in three years. As an amateur, he was again Belgian champion in 1996.

Van Itterbeeck was also active as a kickboxer . From 2000 to 2003 he worked for a security company and then as a delivery driver for a construction supply company.
