Heist-op-den-Berg is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 42,681 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019), which consists of the main town and five other districts.

Mechelen is 18 kilometers west, Antwerp 26 kilometers northwest and Brussels about 35 kilometers southwest.

The next motorway exits are in the north near Herentals on the A13 / E 313 , in the south near Aarschot on the A2 and in the west near Mechelen on the A1 / E 19 .

The municipality has a regional train station on the Antwerp - Lier - Heist-op-den-Berg - Aarschoot railway line .
