Wommelgem is a municipality with 12,865 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the province of Antwerp ( Flanders region ) in Belgium . It is located in the Antwerp agglomeration about seven kilometers east of the city center.

The next motorway exits are Wommelgem on the A13 / E 34 and Slijkhoek on the A1 / E 19 ; others are located on the eastern motorway ring road in Antwerp. In Mortsel and Boechout are the next regional stations and in Antwerp also hold about regional express trains. Antwerp Airport is in the immediate vicinity .
