Mortsel is a Belgian city in the Flanders region with 26,099 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019), which is located in the greater Antwerp area.
Location and infrastructure
The city center of Antwerp is about six kilometers northwest and Brussels about 36 kilometers south.
The next motorway exits are at Slijkhoek on the A1 / E 19 , Wommelgem on the A13 / E 34 and on the southern Antwerp motorway ring.
Mortsel has a regional train station on the Brussels - Mechelen - Mortsel - Antwerp line . Interregional express trains also stop in Antwerp.
Antwerp Airport, just a few kilometers away, is the closest regional airport and Brussels National Airport, near the capital, is an international airport.
