Berlaar is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 11,527 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It consists of the main town and the smaller district of Gestel.

Mechelen is 15 kilometers southwest, Antwerp 20 kilometers northwest and Brussels about 35 kilometers southwest.

The next motorway exits are at Massenhoven and Herentals on the A13 / E 313 and at Kontich and Mechelen on the A1 / E 19 .

The municipality has a regional train station on the Antwerp- Lier - Aarschot line , and national express trains also stop in Antwerp and Brussels.

The Antwerp International Airport is the nearest regional airport and the airport Brussels National near the capital Brussels is an airport of international importance.
