Ranst is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 19,008 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It is located on the eastern edge of the Antwerp area south of the Albert Canal and, in addition to the main town, consists of the districts Broechem , Emblem and Oelegem .

The city center of Antwerp is about twelve kilometers to the west and Brussels 40 kilometers to the south. The next motorway exits are Ranst and Massenhoven on the Belgian motorways A21 / E 34 and A13 / E 313 . In Lier , Boechout and Mortsel are the next regional stations and in Antwerp also hold about regional express trains. The Antwerp International Airport is the nearest regional airport and Brussels National close to the capital is an international airport.
