Carlo Bomans (born June 10, 1963 in Bree ) is a former Belgian cyclist and today's coach.

As a junior driver, Carlo Bomans became Belgian road champion in 1981 and Belgian military champion in 1983. In 1984 he won Paris-Troyes , Omloop Het Nieuwsblad , Troyes-Dijon in 1985 and the Druivenkoers in 1989 . In 1984 he took part in the road race at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles , but had to drop out. In 1986 he turned professional.

1989 Bomans became Belgian road champion in Waregem , ahead of Eddy Planckaert and Alfons De Wolf . In 1994 he won across Flanders and in 1996 the E3 Flanders Prize . He competed seven times in the Tour de France between 1985 and 1995 without great success: he gave up four times, his best placement was 76th place in 1994 .

Carlo Bomans suffered from major health problems throughout his cycling career. He had to undergo operations several times for fractures and knee problems. From 1998 he was the Belgian national coach for the juniors, since 2006 he has coached the elite. He is the father of racing cyclist Glenn Bomans .
