Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme

The Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme (Spanish: Semana Catalana , German: Catalan Week ) was a Catalan cycling race .

The stage race was held annually between 1963 and 2005, with the exception of 1980. The first five events from 1963 to 1967 took place under the name Challenge Drink . At the time the UCI Europe Tour was introduced in 2005, the race was part of this racing series and classified in the highest category, 2nd HC. An event was planned for 2006, but it was canceled because the budget could not be covered. The tour was also not held in the following years.

Five drivers have won the Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme twice: Michael Boogerd , Laurent Jalabert , Alex Zülle , Eddy Merckx and Luis Ocaña Pernía . José Pérez-Francés won the tour twice under the name Challenge Drink.
