Jan Raas (1978)

The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1982 was the 80th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 18, 1982.

The race led from Compiègne , around 80 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 270.5 kilometers long. 174 drivers started, of which 57 were able to place. The winner Jan Raas completed the race with an average speed of 36.733 km / h .

A group of nine drivers led 20 kilometers from the finish, including Jan Raas, his team-mate Ludo Peeters , Bernard Hinault and Roger De Vlaeminck , who, however, lacked form. Peeters was sent forward, forcing Hinault to press the others to chase. Peeters was caught up and Raas attacked immediately. None of the other drivers had the strength to follow him, so Raas alone in the velodrome arrived and won the race with his seventh participation.
