The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1939 was the 40th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 9th, 1939.

The race led from Le Vésinet to Roubaix , where it ended on Avenue Gustave Delory (previously Avenue les Villas ). The route was 250 kilometers long. 171 drivers started, 68 of whom were able to place. The winner Émile Masson jr. completed the race at an average speed of 35.93 km / h .

20 kilometers from the finish, Èmile Masson led by a slight margin over a quartet of Marcel Kint , Roger Lapébie , Maurice Archambaud and Cyrille Van Overberghe , all of whom were part of the Mercier-Hutchinson team . However, Masson managed to stay ahead of these drivers and crossed the finish line by a minute and a half.
