Gaston Rebry (at the Tour de France 1932)

The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1935 was the 36th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 21, 1935.

The race went from Argenteuil over 262 kilometers to the Hippodrome des Flandres in Marcq-en-Barœul , around nine kilometers from Roubaix . 160 drivers started, 66 of whom were able to place. The winner Gaston Rebry completed the race with an average speed of 38.25 km / h .

It rained during the race. Gaston Rebry attacked continuously until a group of three leading drivers had formed: André Leducq , Jean Aerts and himself. After a few kilometers, Aerts could no longer keep up with the pace. 15 kilometers from the finish, a tire on Leducq's bike was constantly losing air, so he stopped twice to inflate it again. "Bulldog" Rebry took the chance, drove away and took his third victory after 1931 and 1934 . So he drew level with the previous record holder Octave Lapize .
