The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1956 was the 54th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 8, 1956.

The race led from Saint-Denis , north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The route was 252 kilometers long. 80 drivers were able to place themselves. The winner Louison Bobet completed the race at an average speed of 41.83 km / h .

Before the race, Bobet had spoken of wanting to end his cycling career. In the final sprint he beat De Bruyne and Forestier.
