Paving stone in honor of the winner Marc Madiot on the Allée Charles Crupelandt in Roubaix
The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1991 was the 89th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 14, 1991.
The race led from Compiègne , around 80 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 266.5 kilometers long. 196 drivers started, 96 of them placed. The winner Marc Madiot completed the race with an average speed of 37.332 km / h .
At the Carrefour de l'Arbre , around 16 kilometers from the finish, there was a leading group of five drivers. At this point Marc Madiot made a successful attack , as he had done in 1985 , and won Paris – Roubaix for the second time.
