The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1990 was the 88th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 8, 1990.

The race led from Compiègne , around 80 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 265.5 kilometers long. 186 drivers started, 92 of them placed. The winner Eddy Planckaert completed the race with an average speed of 34.855 km / h .

Eddy Planckaert ran away 95 kilometers from the finish. Over the next 60 kilometers, six riders gradually joined him without the peloton reacting. The final sprint in the cycling track between Steve Bauer and Planckaert ended so closely that the jury had to examine the finish photo for several minutes before Planckaert was declared the winner.
