The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1903 was the eighth edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 11, 1903.

The race ran for 268 kilometers from Chatou and the drivers were driven by motorized pacemakers . 51 cyclists started, 27 of whom were able to place. The winner Hippolyte Aucouturier completed the race at an average speed of 29.104 kilometers per hour .

At this event, the drivers changed their bikes before entering the Vélodrome roubaisien , where there were still three laps to complete. Chapperon was the first to reach the velodrome, but accidentally grabbed Louis Trousselier's wheel . While he was swapping his bike again, Aucoutourier had gained a lead of 100 meters. Chapperon came within a few meters of Aucoutourier, who was able to bring victory over the goal.
