The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1960 was the 58th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 10, 1960.

The race led from Saint-Denis , north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The route was 262.5 kilometers long. 156 drivers started, 77 of whom were able to place. The winner Pino Cerami completed the race at an average speed of 43.538 km / h .

Brit Tom Simpson had a long solo journey behind him as the leader when Pino Cerami and Tino Sabbadini made a successful breakaway attempt 18 kilometers from the finish . They quickly caught up with the tired Simpson and passed. Five kilometers later, Sabbadini took a curve too far, which enabled Cerami to gain a lead. Sabbadini could no longer fill this gap and Cerami won. Simpson finished ninth, making it the first Briton among the top ten at Paris-Roubaix .
