The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1970 was the 68th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 12, 1970.

The race led from Chantilly , around 50 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 266 kilometers long. 155 drivers started, 43 of whom were able to place. The winner Eddy Merckx completed the race with an average speed of 41.653 km / h .

It rained heavily throughout the race. Behind the forest of Arenberg , the group of leading drivers had melted to seven.
