The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1985 was the 83rd edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 14, 1985.

The race led from Compiègne , around 80 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 268 kilometers long. 172 drivers started, 35 of whom were able to place. The winner Marc Madiot completed the race with an average speed of 36.109 km / h .

It was windy, it was raining and it was snowing. At the Carrefour de l'Arbre , around 15 kilometers from the finish, Marc Madiot broke away from a small leading group. None of the other drivers could counter his attack, and he won. His team-mate Bruno Wojtinek , who shielded him from the pursuers, came in second . With Greg LeMond , an American placed in the top ten for the first time.
