The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1905 was the tenth edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 23, 1905.
The race went from Chatou over 268 kilometers. 63 cyclists started, of which 26 were able to place. The winner, Louis Trousselier , completed the race at an average speed of 33.206 kilometers per hour .
Trousselier won the Tour de France in the same year and was the first rider to achieve this double victory.
By the tenth edition, the race had "found its rhythm": The 10,000 copies of L'Auto with the start list were sold within an hour, the checkpoints were working to the satisfaction of organizer Henri Desgrange , and the cycle track was sold out, with more spectators than before because structural changes had been made.
