The Külsheim Castle , and Castle Kuelsheim called, is a medieval square castle from the 12th century in Külsheim in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

location

The castle Kuelsheim stands on the edge of the settlement area of the city of the same Kuelsheim at the end of a ridge which increases flat north-east from the closed settlement area of the town lying in a Talspinne and west to the downward valley of the city dewatered Amorsbachs drops.

history

In 1144 the place was first mentioned to the castle. A keep was built at the end of the 12th century and a palace at the end of the 15th century . Further residential buildings were added in the 16th century. In 1687, the castle was extensively remodeled due to the likely previous destruction.

Todays use

Today the castle houses the Külsheim town hall with the seat of the city administration.
