Wenkheim Castle is a former castle in Wenkheim , a district of Werbach in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

A new building was erected in the 16th century. The gentlemen of Wenkheim and the dog of Wenkheim were named as owners of the castle. In 1673 the castle was destroyed by French troops under General Turenne during the Dutch War .

All that remains of the former castle is the former donjon , which is now used as the bell tower of the Catholic Church of St. Maria .
