The castle Seldeneck (also Castle Selneck and rare Ecker Castle) is an Outbound castle of the imperial city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber from the 13th century when residential space Seldeneck within the boundaries of the Creglinger district Blum Weiler in Baden-Württemberg Main-Tauber-Kreis .

The Spornburg is a few steps from the state border with Bavaria on the eastern edge of the Creglingen urban area near the small town of the same name, Seldeneck, at around 392  m above sea level. NHN . It stands on the tip of the valley spur, which the steep blade of the short Ansbach, which below at about 316  m above sea level. The European long-distance hiking trail E8 from Rothenburg ob der Tauber leads over the spur, coming from the Taubertal to the Hohenlohe plain and then to Creglingen, which is over ten kilometers in the northwest.

The castle was first mentioned by name in 1265 and also mentioned in 1300. A mill belonging to the castle was first mentioned in 1341. The castle was founded by the chefs from Nordenberg, one of whom was named after Seldeneck. In the 14th century, the Seinsheim also sat on Seldeneck. Around 1400 the castle came into the possession of the imperial city of Rothenburg. In 1408 the castle complex was almost completely destroyed after the city's disputes with the burgrave of Nuremberg and the bishop of Würzburg.
