Lower Oberlauda Castle
The Lower Oberlauda Castle , also Oberlauda Castle and New Castle Oberlauda , is a former castle in Oberlauda , a district of Lauda-Königshofen in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg . The term Lower Castle was created to differentiate it from the abandoned Oberlauda Castle , also called Upper Castle .
history
The Lower Oberlauda Castle was built around 1537 on the eastern edge of the historic town center. The castle was once owned by the Lords of Hohenlohe. In 1917 the castle burned down.
investment
It is a three-storey renaissance stone building with a half-timbered tower and gable roof and arched portal. The complex was originally surrounded by a curtain wall. Remains of the economic building are preserved at Brunnenstrasse 15/17 . These are now privately owned.
