Agricultural building and cellar entrance

Remnants of an old wall and the former Pfitzingen castle are evidence of the former village fortifications of Pfitzingen. The Pfitzingen castle probably served as a former hunting lodge with a tithe barn and large cellars. The 18th century Gasthaus Krone is directly opposite.

School farm Pfitzingen

At the beginning of the 1990s, the former castle was converted into a school farm. School classes can spend several weeks there and - by working in the stable, field and kitchen - learn something about farm life and the origin of food from agricultural production. In addition, the dependence of agriculture on climate, soil, and economic and market conditions is discussed. Furthermore, the responsible handling of plants and animals in ecological relationships, food chains and material cycles is taught.
