The Pfitzingen school farm in Pfitzingen near Niederstetten is an educational institution of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the only state school farm to date.

The Pfitzingen school farm is located in the Pfitzingen castle in the Niederstetten suburb of Pfitzingen, a place in northeast Baden-Württemberg.

history

In the early 1990s, the Pfitzingen castle was bought by the state of Baden-Württemberg . A school farm was set up there and has existed since 1992.

As part of a school campus stay , pupils of all types of schools from the 4th grade are taught how food is produced on a farm . They work under professional guidance and take care of the agricultural products they produce during their stay .

Awards

The school farm Pfitzingen in November 2007 for the years 2008-2009 as an official project of the UN - Decade "Education for Sustainable Development" excellent.

Sponsorship

The farm is operated by the city of Niederstetten on the basis of a contractual agreement with the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture and is directly subordinate to the Ministry.
