Former Erbgrafenhaus, so-called new building, today residential and commercial building

The Erbgrafenhaus Wertheim , also New Building , is a former castle in the core town of Wertheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The castle was built in 1545/48 and is now a listed building. It is located near the collegiate church on its western front. An associated garden was removed with the expansion of Lindenstrasse and Mühlstrasse in the second half of the 20th century. In 1989/90 the interior was converted for a bank branch. In 1997 the building was renovated and the roof was re-covered.

investment

The former Erbgrafenhaus is in a prominent urban development location at the entrance to the city center and opposite the parish church and is of exemplary value for the city's design and history with its building with high-quality construction details. The three-storey building has a massive ground floor and first floor. The second floor was built in half-timbering and plastered. There is a half- hipped roof and on the south facade a stair tower in front, sandstone door and window walls with a ramp and a small sandstone bay window on the southwest corner . Rib vaults have been preserved on the second floor .
