Oberschüpf Castle
The Oberschüpf Castle , also popularly known as the New Castle Oberschüpf , is a castle built in 1587 in Oberschüpf near Boxberg in Baden-Württemberg . The term New Castle Oberschüpf was created to differentiate the castle from the Castle Schüpf (also known locally as the Old Castle Oberschüpf ). It is a three-story Renaissance building with a beautiful Renaissance portal on the stair tower . After a devastating fire in July 2009, Oberschüpf Castle was rebuilt from 2010 for around one million euros.
Past and present usage
The castle once served as a school and as the former town hall of the once independent community of Oberschüpf. Parts of the castle are used today as a flat apartment and as a citizens' hall. The expanded castle cellar is used for events. Parts of the castle are used as a village community center and by the table tennis club.
