history

middle Ages

The place was first mentioned in 1313 as Bluomenwiler . The settlement initially consisted of two farms and was a Würzburg fiefdom for the barons of Seldeneck . The local rule came in 1404 with the castle Seldeneck to the imperial city Rothenburg ob der Tauber , which in 1405 sold the place with the local people and goods to two of its citizens, before the city bought back the place around 1462. Later Blumweiler was part of the Rothenburg rule of Lichtel .

Modern times

Like the other districts, Blumweiler came to Bavaria in 1803. The places Blumweiler, Seldeneck and Weiler formed one, Schwarzenbrunn and Reutsachsen another mayor's office . The six places of the two mayor's offices were only merged into one municipality in 1824, the capital of which was initially Reutsachsen and from 1828 Blumweiler. As early as 1810, the place fell again to Württemberg and since then has belonged to the Mergentheim Oberamt and since 1938 to the Mergentheim district , which became part of the newly formed Main-Tauber district on January 1, 1973.

On February 1, 1972, Blumweiler was incorporated into the town of Creglingen.
