middle Ages

Freudenbach once belonged to Hohenlohe-Brauneck and Frauental Abbey . In 1448 the place fell with the rule Brauneck to Brandenburg-Ansbach and with the monastery Frauental to Brandenburg-Bayreuth .

Modern times

At the time of the Thirty Years War Freudenbach was completely deserted from 1638 and thereafter and was only settled again later. The place fell to Prussia in 1791 , then to Bavaria in 1806 and finally to Württemberg in 1810 and since then has belonged to the Mergentheim Oberamt and since 1938 to the Mergentheim district , which became part of the newly formed Main-Tauber district on January 1, 1973.

On February 1, 1972 Freudenbach was incorporated into the city of Creglingen.
