Kohlesmühle is a small settlement in the town of Creglingen in the Main-Tauber district in the north of Baden-Württemberg .

geography

The place is located about one kilometer south of Creglingen in a valley through which the Herrgottsbach flows in a northerly direction .

history

On the table sheet No. 6526 "Creglingen" from 1934 the place was recorded as a coal mill with few buildings.

Thimble museum

A thimble museum has been located at the Kohlesmühle since 1982, which exhibits all kinds of thimbles as well as other sewing utensils from the “thimble guild”. As the only special museum of its kind in the world, it presents over 3500 exhibits from the thimbles' guild.

Herrgottskirche

The Herrgottskirche with a Riemenschneider altar is located about 100 meters south of the coal mill.
