Erdbach is a hamlet in the district of Creglinger district Freudenbach in Main-Tauber-Kreis in Franconia dominated northeastern Baden-Wuerttemberg .

The small settlement lies on the boundary of the Creglingen district of Freudenbach.

history

In 1206 and 1214 the small settlement was first mentioned as Ertbach . The Gernodus and Fridericus de Erdbach mentioned in these two years probably come from a local noble family. With the reign of Brauneck, the hamlet came to Ansbach in 1448.

On February 1, 1972, the municipality of Freudenbach, to which Erdbach belonged, was incorporated into the town of Creglingen.

Erdbach consists of 14 houses and has around 65 inhabitants.

Ecclesiastically the hamlet belongs to Creglingen.

Economy and Infrastructure

There is a village community center in terms of infrastructure .

Since 2012 it has been the first bioenergy village in the Main-Tauber district. The residents have organized themselves in the "Nahwärmegemeinschaft Erdbach GbR" and built a biogas plant which, as a local heating network, heats 11 of the 14 houses and the DGH.
