Winzuk Vyachorka

Waljanzin Ryhorawitsch " Winzuk " Viacorka ( Belarusian Валянцін Рыгоравіч "Вінцук" Вячорка - vʲintsuk vʲatʂorka - Russian Валентин Григорьевич "Винцук" Вечёрко ; born 7. July 1961 , Byelorussian SSR ) is a Belarusian politician . From 1999 to 2007 he was chairman of Partyja BNF .

Professional and political career

Winzuk Vyachorka graduated from the Philological Faculty of the Belarusian State University in 1983 and the Institute of Linguistics of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences in 1986. He worked as a professor at the State Pedagogical University Maxim Tank in Belarus and at the Belarusian Humanities Lyceum as a journalist and deputy editor-in-chief of the cultural magazine Spadčyna (Спадчына).

Since 1979 Vyachorka has participated in the national democratic movement in Belarus. He was one of the founders of several youth cultural groups and organizations such as Majstroŭnia (Майстроўня, 1979-1984), Tałaka (Талака, 1986-1989) and the Confederation of Belarusian Youth Organizations. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the Supreme Soviet of Belarus.

In 1988 he was a co-founder of the Belarusian National Front (BNF). Vyachorka headed the program documents commission and was a member of the party's central executive committee. From 1995 to 1999 he was deputy head of the BNF.

Winzuk Vyachorka is the founder and head of a non-governmental organization for education, the Supolnaść Center (Цэнтар "Супольнасьць"), and from 1999 to 2000 he headed the working group of the NGO Assembly of Belarus.

Private life and family

Winzuk Vjachorka speaks several European languages, is married, has two daughters and a son. His wife Aryna is a mathematician. His son Franak is a youth activist with the BNF and a former student of the Belarusian humanities high school. Both Winzuk Wjatschorka and his son Franak were featured in the 2006 documentary by Mirosław Dembiński, A Lesson of Belarusian .

Publications

In 2016, Winzuk Vyachorka published the book "In Belarusian With Vincuk Viačorka": In some essays based on the radio Liberty Internet program of the same name , the rules and principles of authentic Belarusian are explained, a language which, as a result of communist mandates, Language fusion ”has been seriously distorted. Vocabulary and onomastics, grammar and pronunciation, spelling and syntax are covered in short, easy-to-read lessons. Viačorka explains among other things the Taraschkievica , the classic Belarusian spelling named after Branislau Taraschkewitsch . For his efforts to popularize the Belarusian language, Vyachorka received the Civil Society Champions Award 2018 in the Media Activity category.
