The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1975 was the 73rd edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 13th, 1975.
The race led from Chantilly , around 50 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 274 kilometers long. 158 drivers started, 43 of whom were able to place. The winner Roger De Vlaeminck completed the race at an average speed of 40.41 km / h .
The sun was shining during the race, but because it had rained the days before, the pavé sectors were full of mud and slippery. Marc Demeyer attacked incessantly, so that the leading group had finally shrunk to four drivers: Eddy Merckx , Roger de Vlaeminck, André Dierickx and Demeyer. Eight kilometers from the finish, Merckx had a flat tire, but it was quickly repaired so that it could catch up again. He put on the sprint, with only De Vlaeminck following him, who was able to just overtake him in the end. It was De Vlaeminck's third win at Paris – Roubaix after 1972 and 1974 .
