The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 2009 was the 107th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 12th, 2009.
The race led from Compiègne , around 80 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 259 kilometers long. 187 drivers started, 99 of whom were able to place. The winner Tom Boonen completed the race at an average speed of 41.34 km / h .
Behind the pavé sector of Mons-en-Pévèle at kilometer 2011, six riders formed a leading group. When these drivers reached the Carrefour de l'Arbre , Juan Antonio Flecha fell and brought down the others except Boonen. At first Boonen did not notice that he was only traveling alone. Filippo Pozzato tried unsuccessfully to catch up with him. Tom Boonen won his third win at Paris – Roubaix after 2005 and 2008 .
