The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 1929 was the 30th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, March 31st, 1929.

The race went from Le Vésinet over 260 kilometers to Wattrelos . 86 racing drivers started, 25 of whom were able to place. The winner Charles Meunier completed the race with an average speed of 29.13 km / h .

There was a strong headwind during the race. The goal of the race was not, as in previous years, on the Avenue des Villas in Roubaix , but the Stade Amédée-Prouvost in Wattrelos, as the organizers wanted to sell tickets for it. Georges Ronsse , winner of 1927 , attacked before the finish and pulled Meunier and Aimé Déolet with them. The final sprint in the stadium took place on an unpaved cinder track. Ronsse fell on the last corner, dragging Déolot with him, and Meunier won the race. Ronsse crossed the finish line on foot with his broken bike. Angry spectators stormed the interior of the stadium so that the officials were forced to close the stadium to the drivers who were still arriving. Therefore, 15 riders were placed in sixth place, and after the 25th the timing was stopped.
